Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. The city lies in the western part of the country. It is located at an altitude of 2330 meters above the sea levels.

Tashichho Dzong: The Fortress of the Glorious Religion is a spectacular architectural masterpiece. This riverside Dzong is not only an architectural marvel but also an engineering feat, especially considering the absence of modern technology use at the time.

Kuensel phodrang “Buddha point”: The gigantic statue of Shakyamuni Buddha erected on a mountain top is considered one of the largest statues of buddha in the world. Measured at a height of 51.5m.

The Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan: With the aim to preserve and promote the living art; weaving, the Royal Textile Academy was instituted in May 2005 as a non-government non-profit. The RTA include a state of art museum to display its collection of artifacts to further the understanding of Bhutan’s rich textile traditions and way of life.

National Institute for Zorig Chusum: To learn about the thirteen arts and crafts of Bhutan, visit the institute to witness the student perfect their craft.
